中风是因为脑部动脉血管出现问题而起，三十岁后中风的发病率会以倍数增加。其实，中风的病变是有迹可寻的，透过中风风险评估，我们可清楚了解脑部血管的健康状况，及早处理问题，减低中风风险。

医生建议不同年龄层的人士定期进行脑血管检验，周期随年龄而定：

 年龄检验周期 
 30-40 岁每隔 5 – 8 年 
 40-60 岁每隔 5 年 
 60 岁以上每隔 3 – 5 年
